Europe is considered the potential market for Indian companies but if they wish to continue their trade chains with the European countries then they have to comply with the GDPR otherwise there are penalties for the same. The penalties can be €20 million or 4% of global turnover. Companies might face many challenges in order to comply with this regulation as India has a very weak data protection law and also not forgetting a number of border restrictions as well. In order to deal with the above mentioned challenge, it is needed to have a programmatic approach for the protection of data. For all the Indian IT based companies to work in Europe, it is mandatory to comply with the GDPR. Or Else Indian companies might also land up losing a lot of business opportunities in future.
